The camisole or cami is a fitted garment that can be worn as nightwear or underwear depending on the styling. Although fitted the camisole is not a restrictive garment like the corset and is usually made from soft delicate fabrics like lace, silk and dot net. The Chemise is longer than the camisole and can be fitted or loose in a variety of fabrics. The chemise was traditionally a soft fitting undergarment but is becoming more popular as sleepwear and many modern chemise are hard to distinguish from babydoll nightdresses. |
